Contrast and appreciation
As I write this, I am sitting in bed with my coffee at 5.30am on a Sunday morning. I love how still the world feels at this time and looking forward to getting out into nature for a while, listening to the birds sing and the rustling of the trees.
It makes me realise just how busy and noisy humans have become. Once the world wakes up, the hustle and bustle gets louder and louder pushing many of us into sensory overload.
I long to get out of the town but I also love being close to everything and having such lovely neighbours.
It got me thinking that maybe it’s because I experience both the noise and the quiet that helps me to appreciate them so much.
Maybe the contrast of going from the town to the country amplifies what a nice change it is.
Would I take it for granted if I lived there all the time? Would I long for a bit of hustle and bustle if I only experienced the quiet of the countryside?
Contrast is powerful and very much needed to show us just how lucky we are to experience things. So maybe if we spent more time appreciating both sides, it would feel so much better to us all?
Just something to ponder on this beautiful morning. Off to the paw paddock now to enjoy that quiet contrast.
Have a beautiful day, whatever you are doing!
